3 Year Vision

My coach today recommended the following exercise for me: journal where I see myself in 3 years. Explore, get creative, and quiet down the rational side of my brain. Use this as an opportunity to dream.

I see myself basking in the sun on the back porch, sitting in shorts, a tank top, a sun hat, and flip flops. I’m sipping a cold drink, taking a break from some gardening. Our backyard is full of all kind of produce, flowers, and plants, creating a beautiful space to walk around in and get your hands dirty. I love that I can go out into the garden and pick fresh fruits and vegetables. There is food in abundance. I’ve even learned how to can so we can savor all of our fresh food year-round.

Arnie is running around in the backyard as well, playing in the sprinklers, laughing with Trav as they goof off together. I’m getting ready to cook a fantastic pasta dish using the fresh tomatoes from the yard. The kitchen is right off the back porch. Our home is beautiful, open, light, and airy. We have wide open doors that create an intimate space between the inside and outside of the house. We found the perfect little home for our family. It was reasonably priced and beautifully crafted.

We also love our community. There are easy roads for biking and walking. We have access to outdoor beauty, where we can hike around and catch some amazing views and sunsets. We have a wonderful school for Arnie and have made family friends. Our days are intertwined with lovely social gatherings, dinner parties, with close friends with whom we love to spend time.

My work is invigorating. I work from home which gives me the flexibility to incorporate all of the needful things I need to also accomplish as a wife and mother. I love creating. I love spending time with other people, connecting and creating meaningful, fun projects.

We are financially abundant. We don’t need to worry ourselves over money, because we have enough to sustain our lifestyle, so it’s never a thought.

We take time off to travel often during the year. We road-trip and camp across the country. We fly to new places we’ve never been before, and we have many more places to go. We travel often to see friends and family that don’t live near us, and it’s a blessing that we can connect with them often. It makes our visits meaningful and so impactful for us all.
